Moral Action on Climate

PopeFrancis dalai lama

“The earth lies defiled under its inhabitants; for they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore a curse devours the earth, and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt; therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched, and few men are left.” – Isaiah 24:5-6

There is an event to take place in Washington D.C. on September 24th.  The Pope will meet with Congress to discuss–in urgency–the climate crisis we are currently facing, and how we can shift to a future of economic equality, social justice and environmental equity.  Environmental equity has tugging at me recently so I find this meet up with Pope and Congress very intriguing.  Here is an article that goes in into more detail about the event.

It is also no surprise that the Dalai Lama fully supports Pope Francis’ meeting with Congress.  You can read an article on that here.

As the Dalai Lama states, “…the climate is a global issue.” We all have to be involved in this change.

What are your thoughts?

I will post updates as they come in.

God Bless,

Brooke
