May Prayer for Peace

“Peace begins with a smile.” – Mother Teresa

Hi WordPress Family,

I asked Jesus to help me to find a prayer for May’s Prayer for Peace.  As such, I randomly felt very drawn to share the following Psalms:

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heaven and your faithfulness to the clouds. Your righteousness stands like the strong mountains, Your justice like the great deep; You, Lord, shall save both man and beast. How precious is your loving mercy, O God! All mortal flesh shall take refuge under the shadow of your wings. They shall be satisfied with the abundance of your house; they shall drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the well of life and in your light shall we see light. O continue your loving-kindness to those who know you and your righteousness to those who are true of heart.. – Psalms 36:5-10

This Psalms brings peace to my heart.  It discusses the goodness of God and how He provides to all living creatures.  Look at our world; the clouds in the sky; the mountains; the seas.  All the world is a reminder of what God is like.  He is love, truth and faithful. This world demonstrates what He promised.  He always does what is right.  God is justice.

He also provides us with natural light so we can see things of this world and supernatural light so we can see things of God’s world.  We see mystical signs every day.  Sometimes they seem so natural that we barely notice their significance.  It takes a great amount of awareness to notice these signs as God is and will always be present.

These are some of the subtle signs that I have witness: animals gathering in my yard after I say the Prayer of Saint Francis; feeling a strong and loving Presence of God when I am in need; or watching the last few dozen leaves (leaves that have sat on a tree all Fall and Winter) blow off a tree in Spring.  God blew these leaves with a whirl, creating a 20 foot leaf/wind funnel.  God created this funnel to dance across our driveway to my son whom danced enthusiastic along with Him.  They danced with one another for what seemed like only a few seconds until He floated far up into the sky, gently letting go of all the leaves.  They fluttered down into our forest and that is when I noticed my son smiling.  His smile represented peace.  So majestic, natural and tranquil.

God is love. God is faithful. God is good. God is justice. God is fair. God is peace.

These are the subtle ways that God makes His Presence known to us.  All so we can remember Him and bring peace to His world.
